Fantic Factory Racing riders delivered standout performances across the top national championships this weekend. Douwe Van Mechgelen clinched the 125cc title at the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Markelo, while Brian Bogers secured third place overall in the premier class standings. Meanwhile, at the Italian Prestige Championship in Cingoli, Simone Mancini claimed his first podium of the season, and Francesco Bellei opened the 125 Rookies Cup with a solid third overall.
As the MXGP and EMX championships took a weekend off ahead of the upcoming triple-header that will see the Fantic Factory Racing teams head to France, Germany and Latvia over the next three weeks, the spotlight shifted to two of the most prestigious national championships: the Italian MX Prestige Championship in Cingoli and the final round of the 2025 Dutch Masters of Motocross in Markelo.
At the latter, it was Douwe Van Mechgelen who stood out aboard the Fantic XX 125, securing the Italian brand’s first title of the season by clinching the 125cc crown in a thrilling finale at the Dutch Masters. The young Belgian sealed the championship with an impressive overall victory – his second win from three rounds – courtesy of a third-place finish in race 1 and a stunning win in race 2.
There was more good news from Brian Bogers, the sole Fantic Factory Racing MXGP rider competing in Markelo. With a solid performance consisting of two fourth-place finishes, Bogers ended the 2025 Dutch Masters third overall in the premier class standings.
It was also a positive weekend for the Fantic Factory Racing EMX squad in Cingoli, where Simone Mancini claimed a well-deserved first podium of the 2025 season aboard the Fantic XXF 250. Racing in front of his home crowd, the 17-year-old from the Marche region immediately impressed by setting the second-fastest MX2 time in Saturday’s qualifying – just two tenths off pole position.
Despite battling a cold, Mancini had a lightning start in Sunday’s first race. He slotted into second place from the first corner and stayed close to the leader in the opening laps, eventually pulling away from the chasing pack. Thanks to a strong pace and smart race management, he crossed the line in second. After a slightly slower launch off the line in race 2, the Fantic rider fought hard right to the chequered flag, crossing the line in fourth – and securing third overall on the day. It was Mancini’s first podium of the 2025 season and his second in the MX2 class of the Italian Prestige Championship, following his stunning 250 debut in Arco last October.
Also racing in Cingoli was his Fantic Factory Racing EMX teammate Francesco Bellei, who took part in the opening round of the 125 Rookies Cup. The 16-year-old Italian grabbed the holeshot in Saturday’s first race aboard the Fantic XX 125. Although he had to relinquish the lead in the early stages, he delivered a strong performance to secure second place.
Race 2 got off to a hectic start, as Bellei came close to going down in the second corner but managed to recover just in time, albeit losing valuable ground. While battling his way back through the field, he suffered a minor crash but continued to push hard. A decisive overtake in the closing stages earned him sixth place in the race to secure third overall.
Douwe Van Mechgelen:
“What a special day! I felt really good right from time practice. In race 1, my start wasn’t the best, and the track was quite one-lined. I was sitting behind third for a while before making a pass, and even though I set the fastest laps, I couldn’t close the gap to the leaders. So, the championship was tied on points going into the final race. I took the holeshot, made a mistake and lost a position, but with two laps to go I managed to pass again – and secure the title. I am just so happy right now because we work so hard for moments like this. Thanks to my family, my team and everyone at Fantic, my friends, and all the people supporting me trackside this weekend. I am really looking forward to carrying this momentum into the upcoming races.”
Simone Mancini:
“It feels great to get on the podium at my home race! I woke up with a bit of a cold and was struggling to breathe, but I still gave it everything I had. In race 1, I got off to a very good start, tried to keep my rhythm and stay consistent, and I managed to bring home a strong second place. The top riders weren’t too far ahead in race 2 either, but after a slightly slower start, I just couldn’t get any closer to them. Still, I am really happy with this first podium of the season – it is definitely an important step forward. I want to thank my team and everyone at Fantic for the great work they have done. A big thanks also to all the fans in Cingoli and all my friends who came to cheer for me – you were amazing!”
Van Mechgelen trionfa in Olanda, Mancini e Bellei a podio a Cingoli
I piloti Fantic Factory Racing grandi protagonisti nei campionati nazionali: Douwe Van Mechgelen conquista il titolo nella 125 al Dutch Masters of Motocross a Markelo, mentre Brian Bogers chiude al terzo posto nella classifica finale della classe regina. All’Italiano Prestige a Cingoli invece, Simone Mancini centra il suo primo podio stagionale nella classe MX2 e Francesco Bellei apre la Rookies Cup 125 con un buon terzo posto assoluto.
Mentre il Campionato Mondiale ed Europeo di Motocross si è preso una settimana di pausa prima della prossima tripletta che porterà i team Fantic Factory Racing MXGP e Fantic Factory Racing EMX in Francia, Germania e Lettonia nelle prossime tre settimane, questo weekend il focus si è spostato su due dei campionati più prestigiosi in assoluto a livello nazionale: il Campionato Italiano MX Prestige a Cingoli e l’atto finale del Dutch Masters of Motocross 2025 nei Paesi Bassi.
Partendo proprio da quest’ultimo, è stato Douwe Van Mechgelen in sella alla Fantic XX 125 a regalare al marchio veneto il primo titolo della stagione in corso, laureandosi campione della classe 125 al Dutch Masters. Un titolo sigillato con una grande vittoria di giornata a Markelo – il secondo successo del giovane pilota belga su tre appuntamenti disputati – grazie a un terzo e un primo posto di manche.
Ottime notizie arrivano anche da Brian Bogers, unico alfiere Fantic Factory Racing MXGP in gara a Markelo. Grazie a una prestazione solida, con due quarti posti di manche, ha concluso il Dutch Masters 2025 al terzo posto nella classifica generale della classe regina.
Weekend positivo anche per i ragazzi del Fantic Factory Racing EMX impegnati allo storico Crossodromo di Cingoli nelle Marche, dove è arrivato il primo, meritatissimo podio della stagione per Simone Mancini e la Fantic XXF 250. Davanti al suo pubblico di casa, il diciassettenne marchigiano si è messo in evidenza fin dalle prove, segnando il secondo tempo della MX2 nella qualifica del sabato, a soli due decimi dalla pole. Nonostante un fastidioso raffreddore, Mancini è partito fortissimo anche nella prima manche della domenica. Si è subito inserito in seconda posizione e ha cercato di seguire il leader nei primi giri, aprendo presto un gap sul gruppo degli inseguitori. Grazie a un ottimo passo e a una gestione di gara intelligente ha tagliato il traguardo in seconda posizione.
Dopo una partenza leggermente più arretrata in gara 2, il pilota ufficiale Fantic ha lottato con grande determinazione fino alla bandiera a scacchi, portando a casa un quarto posto di manche che gli è valso il terzo posto di giornata. Mancini conquista così il suo primo podio della stagione 2025 e il suo secondo nella classe MX2 del Campionato Italiano Prestige, dopo lo straordinario terzo posto al suo esordio con la Fantic XXF 250 ad Arco lo scorso ottobre.
Sempre a Cingoli è sceso in pista anche il suo compagno di squadra Francesco Bellei, per la prima prova della Rookies Cup 125. Scattato davanti a tutti nella prima manche del sabato in sella alla Fantic XX 125, il sedicenne trentino ha dovuto cedere solo una posizione nelle fasi iniziali della gara. Dopo una bella lotta è riuscito a portare a casa un ottimo secondo posto.
Gara 2 è iniziata con uno spavento al via: Bellei ha rischiato di cadere alla seconda curva ma è riuscito a salvarsi in extremis, perdendo però terreno prezioso. Nel tentativo di rimonta è incappato in una scivolata, ma ha continuato a spingere a testa bassa. Con un sorpasso decisivo nel finale ha conquistato il sesto posto di manche che gli è valso il terzo gradino del podio nella classifica assoluta.
Douwe Van Mechgelen:
“Una grande giornata! Mi sono sentito molto bene fin dalle prove cronometrate. In gara 1, la mia partenza non è stata delle migliori e la pista era piuttosto mono traiettoria. Ci ho messo un po’ troppo tempo a passare in terza posizione e, nonostante fossi il più veloce in pista, non sono più riuscito a chiudere il gap. Il campionato si è deciso all’ultima manche, siamo partiti a pari punti. Ho fatto l’holeshot ma poi ho commesso un errore perdendo una posizione, ma a due giri dalla fine sono riuscito a riprendermi la leadership – e soprattutto ad assicurarmi il titolo. Sono davvero felice, perché lavoriamo tanto per poter vivere momenti come questo. Grazie alla mia famiglia, al mio team e a tutta la Fantic, ai miei amici e a tutte le persone che mi hanno sostenuto a bordo pista questo weekend. Non vedo l’ora di portare tutta questa energia anche nelle prossime gare.”
Simone Mancini:
“Che bello salire sul podio alla gara di casa! Mi sono svegliato con un po’ di raffreddore e facevo fatica a respirare, ma ho dato comunque tutto quello che avevo. In gara 1 sono partito molto bene, ho cercato di tenere il mio ritmo ed essere sempre costante, riuscendo a portare a casa un bel secondo posto. Anche in gara 2 i primi non erano lontanissimi, ma dopo una partenza un po’ meno buona non sono mai riuscito a raggiungerli. Sono comunque molto contento di questo primo podio della stagione, abbiamo sicuramente fatto uno step importante. Vorrei ringraziare il mio team e tutta la Fantic per il grande lavoro svolto. Un grazie di cuore anche a tutto il pubblico cingolano e a tutti gli amici che sono venuti a tifare per me: siete stati grandi!”
Francesco Bellei:
“Un terzo posto è sempre un buon risultato, ma devo dire che non mi soddisfa del tutto. L’aspetto positivo di questo weekend sono sicuramente le ottime partenze: sono scattato molto bene in entrambe le manche. Abbiamo però individuato anche alcune aree in cui possiamo ancora migliorare. Tutto sommato, il terzo posto è un risultato solido, soprattutto considerando che non sono mai riuscito a trovare il feeling giusto con la pista per poter spingere davvero al massimo. Continuiamo a lavorare!”
